During my time at NASA, I designed the NELLIE interface and a suite of other ground-support equipment to test and interact with NIRVSS. It provides and monitors power to the various subsystems of NIRVSS, and provides a computer interface for communication.
NIRVSS will be installed on the VIPER lunar rover to characterize volatiles including H2O in lunar regolith, and will also be used with NELLIE for terrestrial use.
